Original Building

The Augustiner original building in the way it looks today has been completely rebuilt from 1896 to 1897. Responsible for this: the famous Munich architect Emanuel von Seidl. Even if more than a century has passed since then, you can still marvel at the building today.

At that time, the entire building complex on Neuhauser Strasse consisted only of a brewery and a classic beer hall, i.e. inn. While restaurants in Paris were already popular in the Napoleonic era, these new noble restaurants in Munich appeared only at the end of the 1880s. It was even advertised in newspapers. This was due to the beginning of industrialization and the growing prosperity of the middle class.

The Augustiner original building is still a reflection of this new era of gastronomy. Emanuel von Seidl has created an architectural gem that still attracts guests today.
